Wendell Pritchett has been named the 30th provost of the University of Pennsylvania. The announcement was made today by Penn President Amy Gutmann.

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences today announced the election of 228 new members. They include some of the world’s most accomplished scholars, scientists, writers, artists, as well as civic, business, and philanthropic leaders.  Penn faculty members Pam Grossman, Beverly Davidson, Samuel Freeman, and alumnus John Legend were among the new members.

Joann Mitchell has been named Senior Vice President for Institutional Affairs and Chief Diversity Officer, Penn President Amy Gutmann announced last Wednesday. The president noted that this appointment recognizes “not only Joann’s exemplary service to Penn and her distinguished leadership across a broad range of domains, but also our elevation and extension of Joann’s campus-wide leadership role in making Penn a preeminent leader in diversity and inclusion.”
