Macklemore - Same Love (Chinese Version) #ProudToBe

When I was a kid I knew I wasn’t straight.
My family asked if I’m just sick, said I wasn’t made that way…
Told my mom, tears rushing down my face;
That no one understood me - I felt so out of place.

I tried to explain…
That we have to move past the prejudice, the stereotypes in our head…
When I was little I used to wonder: if you can’t see my sexuality when you look at me
Maybe I can hide it and suppress it?

That’s because, people discriminate, marginalize and alienate
Those who are different:
Saying we should be cured with some treatment and religion
A man-made rewiring of a predisposition.

Playing God -
America the brave, still fears what we don’t know
And “God loves all his children” is somehow forgotten.
When we use outdated ideas to steal others’ human rights

I can’t change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to.

I can’t change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to.
My love. My love. My love.

He keeps me warm.
He keeps me warm
He keeps me warm.
He keeps me warm.

For LGBT people, pop culture’s always hating
Have you read the YouTube comments lately?
Hateful language gets dropped on the daily
We become so numb to what we’re saying

A culture founded from oppression
Cuz we don’t have acceptance for “em.
Calling each other “f——t” behind the keys of a message board.
A word rooted in hate, and yet our culture still supports it.

Gay is synonymous with the lesser
It’s the same hate that’s caused wars from religion
Gender to skin color, the complexion of your pigment.
The same fight that led people to walk outs and sit-ins -

It’s human rights for everybody; there is no difference!
Live on - and be yourself!
But in schools they teach kids something else
If kids see teachers discriminate.

How will injustice ever sate?
LGBT youth have the world’s highest suicide rate:
Dying from the trauma of society’s hate.
Now’s our call to cure the pain of those whose rights we stole
Freedom and liberty for all - let’s make it everybody’s goal.

I can’t change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love, my love, my love.

He keeps me warm
He keeps me warm
He keeps me warm
He keeps me warm

I can’t change
Even if I tried
Even if I wanted to
My love. My love. My love.

He keeps me warm.
He keeps me warm.
He keeps me warm.
He keeps me warm.

Love is patient. Love is kind.
Love is patient. Love is kind.
